A RESUMÉ OF LATE DR TUNDE RICHARD ALADESANMI.
The late Tunde Richard ALADESANMI was born on the 21st of February, 1962 at Egbe Ekiti in Gboyin Local Government of Ekiti State. He attended Methodist Primary School, Egbe Ekiti and later proceeded to St. Augustine’s Comprehensive High School, Oye – Ekiti, he was the Senior Prefect of St. Augustine’s Comp. High School Oye-Ekiti between 1977 and 1980.
He was also at the Ondo State College of Arts and Science, Ikare Akoko. He attended the University of Ibadan, where he graduated with Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in July 1988. As an undergraduate, he was the secretary of Les Amis Club, College of Medicine, University College Hospital, Ibadan, 1986 – 1987, Commissioner for Health & Transport, Alexander Brown Hall, UCH, UI, Ibadan, 1986 – 1987, Vice Chairman, Ondo State Medical Student’s Association, College of Medicine, UCH, UI, Ibadan 1986 – 1987.
Dr Tunde Richard Aladesanmi had his Pre-Registration Internship at the State Specialist Hospital, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State between August 1988 and July 1989. He served as a Medical Officer during his NYSC at the Department of State Security Service Clinic, Ilorin, Kwara State.
He was the Medical Co-ordinator NYSC Clinic, Health Resources & Medical CDS Unit of NYSC, Ilorin, Kwara State, 1989 – 1990.
He was a Senior House Officer at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Department of Surgery in 1992 and rose to the position of Senior Registrar in May 1996. He resumed as a Consultant Surgeon at the Federal Medical Center, Ido - Ekiti in the year 2000. He became the Head of Department of Surgery, Federal Medical Centre, Ido-Ekiti, Ekiti State, 2000 – 2011, Head of Clinical, Federal Medical Centre, Services Ido- Ekiti, Ekiti State 2001-2008.
He obtained Master’s Degree in Public Administration (MPA) in August 2006 from University of Ado –Ekiti (now EKSU). He became a Fellow, International College of Surgeon (FICS) in June 2009. He was a recipient of many awards among which were Best Consultant, FMC, Ido- Ekiti, 2008; award of Recognition of selfless service, dedication and outstanding performance by Nigerian Medical Association 2014; award of Excellence presented for contributions to the development of the Public Service by First Baptist Church, Ado –Ekiti, 2014 among others.
He served the Nigerian Medical Association in different capacities both at the state and national levels as State, Secretary, Vice – Chairman, Chairman, Chairman, Implementation Committee. He rose to the position of Consultant Surgeon Grade I, at the Federal Medical Center, Ido - Ekiti in January 2009, the position he occupied till he answered the call of his creator on the 24th of April, 2016 in a ghastly road accident. He was married to Dr Omobola Aladesanmi, an Associate Professor at Ekiti State University and the marriage is blessed with three wonderful children.
